If your baby is sick in the middle of the night and need immediate medical attention, we wouldn’t recommend bringing him to a 24 hours clinic near your house especially if he is only a few months or few years old. 24 hours clinic may not have medical equipment to treat infant immediately. Following are three popular choices among Singaporean:
- KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
100 Bukit Timah Road
Tel: +65 6-CALL KKH (+65 6-2255 554)
- Mount Alvernia Hospital (Mt Alvernia)
820 Thomson Rd, Singapore 574623
Tel (24hr/Emergency) : 6347-6210
- Thomson 24-Hour Family Clinic , Thomson Medical Centre
339 Thomson Rd, Singapore 307677
Tel: 6350 8812
KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital has a pediatrician on 24 hour duty every day of the year. As KKH is a hospital, it has comprehensive medical facilities in the event your infant need immediate medical attention.
Mount Alvernia and Thomson Medical Centre both have 24 hours clinic. Unlike KKH, the doctors on standby at Mount Alvernia and Thomson Medical Centre are normal GP so you will be waiting in queue with other types of A&E patients. You will find more infants at Thomson Medical Centre compared to Mount Alvernia as TMC is more reputable as a labour and kids hospital. For KKH even though you will be attended by a pediatric specialist, they are mostly junior doctors along with trainees.
All three hospitals have pediatric wards that your child can be admitted to in case of emergency. In term of fees, KKH would be much cheaper as Mount Alvernia and Thomson Medical Centre are both private hospitals.
In terms of waiting time, KKH would be much longer compared to Mount Alvernia and Thomson Medical Centre.
All three hospitals are great options that you can consider in the event your infant need immediate medical attention.
