  • Vitamin C– This vitamin is very important in boosting the immune system. Aside from the Vitamin C tablets, it can also be found naturally in citrus fruits.
  • Calcium– For healthier teeth and bones of the fetus, calcium supplements may be ordered by the doctor. It can be found naturally in different dairy products. Although, the pregnant woman should also take note of the foods to avoid which are high in calcium such as unpasteurized milk.
  • Vitamin D– 10 micrograms of vitamin D is the usual prescription of the doctor. During the first few months of the baby, he/she will not be able to synthesize Vitamin D, so this is usually given to the mother before delivery. The natural source of Vitamin D is sunlight. Although, women should also avoid too much exposure.
  • Magnesium– Deficiency in magnesium can result to poor fetal growth. In some severe cases, it may even lead to fetal death. To avoid these untoward incidents, it is best to make sure that the pregnant woman has enough magnesium intake.
